Gracianna Winery is pleased to announce the winners of the first ever Gracianna Gratitude Grant. This $10,000 prize is awarded to Bay Area nonprofit organizations primarily serving women and children. Gracianna was pleased to receive multiple applications from worthy candidates and determined two nonprofits should share in the prize. Each nonprofit will receive $5,000 in Gracianna wine to use in their fundraising efforts. We are grateful for the work of all the applicants and all local nonprofits serving women and children. 1. NAME OF GRANTEE: Breast Cancer Emergency Fund bcef.org/
LOCATION: San Francisco
The BCEF provides quick and compassionate emergency financial assistance to low-income people battling breast cancer in order to cover basic human needs, lessen financial burdens and improve quality of life. They will use the award in multiple fundraising events occurring this fall, including donor appreciation events representing individual major donors and corporate sponsors as well in their annual gala event next year.
2. NAME OF GRANTEE: YWCA Sonoma County www.ywcasc.org/
LOCATION: Santa Rosa
YWCA Sonoma County’s role is to provide resources and support to victims of domestic violence and their families so they can heal, become self-sufficient, and create productive, healthy lives. They plan to use the award to support their annual “Women, Wine & Cheese” event which supports the Sonoma County’s only confidential safe home for women and children victims of domestic violence.
